Kris Joseph
Syracuse Orange Alumn, Former Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets Player
Kris was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. He was drawn to the game because of his older brother Maurice (who ended up going to Michigan State/Vermont and is now an assistant coach at Butler). After dominating the competition in Montreal, he decided to finish off his last two years of high school in Washington, DC at ArchBishop Carroll. There, he received many athletic scholarships and offers from schools like Maryland, Georgetown, Uconn, West Virginia and of course Syracuse. He committed to Syracuse University as a junior in High school.
2008-2012 :His time while at Syracuse was great! As a freshman he was able to learn from great players like Paul Harris, Eric Devendorf, and Jonny Flynn all while being taught the game from a world class staff that included Robert Murphy, Mike Hopkins and Jim Boeheim. After a freshman season where he didnt see much time on the floor, he knew that he had a big summer ahead of him for his sophomore year.
Sophomore year, Kris had a great year coming off the bench which helped him earn a few 6th man of the year awards including the BIG EAST sixth man of the year.
Kris became a full-time starter for his junior and senior years earning all BIG EAST honors.
In June 2012, Kris was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 51st overall pick. After a year in the NBA with Boston and Brooklyn, he decided to start playing professionally overseas where he played in France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. After his 2020-2021 season, he decided to retire from the game and start giving back to his community by becoming a skills and development trainer. After a year of skills training, he joined Dynastie Institute as a coach (which is a prep school right outside of Montreal) where he won the NPUBA championship in just his first year coaching. The championship was the first one in program history.
